Review

With just seven tables on Via San Marco, La Latteria has been a Milanese institution since 1965. Run for decades by Maria and Arturo Maggi, it became beloved for its homely atmosphere, market-driven cooking, and dishes like the iconic spaghetti al limone. The restaurant has always embodied simplicity and authenticity, sourcing produce from the family’s land and local markets. In 2023, after a brief closure, it was revived under the stewardship of the Loro Piana family, with the promise to preserve its spirit unchanged.

La Latteria does not take reservations, so arriving early is essential to secure a table. For many Milanese, it remains not just a restaurant, but a piece of the city’s dining history.
