Review

Few restaurants have shaped modern Italian fine dining quite like Il Luogo Aimo e Nadia. Founded in 1962 by Aimo and Nadia Moroni, who had both moved from Tuscany to Milan in search of a new life, what began as a humble trattoria gradually evolved into one of the country’s most influential restaurants. Long before celebrating regional Italian cuisine became commonplace, they championed the extraordinary diversity of Italy’s ingredients and culinary traditions, helping redefine Italian gastronomy on its own terms.

Today, the restaurant remains in the hands of the Moroni family, with Stefania Moroni preserving her parents’ vision while chefs Alessandro Negrini and Fabio Pisani lead the kitchen. Their cooking draws inspiration from every corner of Italy, combining exceptional produce with contemporary technique and a deep respect for the country’s culinary heritage. Sophisticated without ever feeling contrived, Il Luogo Aimo e Nadia continues to be one of Milan’s defining dining destinations.
