Review

Miga is a contemporary family owned Korean restaurant in Hackney, run by veteran chef Hyun Sang Ko, whose cooking is shaped by memories of his grandmother, a respected chef in Seoul during the 1970s. With more than 30 years of experience across Korea, Japan and London, Ko opened Miga last year to serve generous Korean dishes with a level of precision and depth still rare in London.

Located on Mare Street, Miga takes a more refined approach to Korean cooking while remaining warm and approachable. The menu moves between traditional flavours and contemporary presentation, served in a clean, understated dining room that keeps the focus firmly on the food.
