The Mandarin Kitchen is a casual, bustling Cantonese restaurant on Queensway, best known for its lobster noodles. The dish is central to the restaurant’s identity: first created here in 1978 and now offered in seven different styles, with the ginger and spring onion version remaining the signature favourite.
Founded by Helen Li and seafood trader Stephen Cheung, the restaurant grew from modest beginnings into a long-standing London institution, still run by the Cheung family today. Their focus on authentic Cantonese techniques and seafood expertise shaped a menu built around freshness and dishes prepared to order.
