Takara is the oldest Japanese restaurant in Paris and one of my all-time favourites. Open since 1958, Takara is a true institution for those in search of authentic Japanese cuisine. Stepping inside feels like a journey to old Japan, far from the bustle of the Opéra district. Izakaya-style dining unfolds with many dishes — from pristine quality sashimi to comforting hot pots, and beef dishes such as the excellent shimofuri grill. A timeless address where those who know, know.
