A true mountain refuge and restaurant, Refuge de Porcherey offers one of the most breathtaking lunches in front of Mont-Blanc. Family-owned and perched high above Saint-Gervais and Saint-Nicolas-de-Véroce, it serves a single, daily-changing menu made from local, seasonal ingredients.
The slowly cooked veal with creamy polenta and the homemade blueberry tart, I had that day on the menu, are worth the journey alone. Open year-round, it’s a welcoming stop for hikers in summer and skiers in winter, offering both hearty meals and overnight stays in a fully renovated chalet that sleeps up to 19 guests.
