Review
Located near Montreuil-sur-Mer in Pas-de-Calais, around three hours from Paris, La Grenouillère is the two-Michelin-starred restaurant of Alexandre Gauthier. He took over the family restaurant from his father more than twenty years ago and has since made it one of France’s most distinctive dining destinations.
Gauthier’s cooking is closely connected to the Côte d’Opale and its produce, from the nearby coast to the surrounding countryside. His food is contemporary and personal, but firmly grounded in French terroir.
The restaurant was redesigned by architect Patrick Bouchain and also has a handful of suites, as well as La Maison de la Source nearby for those wishing to stay overnight. After extensive damage caused by the floods of late 2023, La Grenouillère reopened in February 2025 following fifteen months of closure.
