Opened in 1980, Bar Nestor is technically not a pintxos bar, but it is an absolute must-visit while pintxos crawling in San Sebastián. The menu is intentionally simple, featuring their renowned old cow chop served with tomato salad or Gernika peppers, as well as their delicious potato omelette. They have only one table, the coveted “table 19,” which should be reserved in advance.
To enter Bar Nestor, you need to arrive at least an hour before opening (even earlier for the tortilla, which has a separate “line”) to leave your name and receive the time you can return. This time, we arrived around 12 PM and found about 10 people ahead of us. At 1 PM, we were given a return time of 2 PM, and we finally got in at 2:30.
