Opened in 2023, Canalha was conceived as a neighbourhood restaurant and quickly became a Lisbon favourite. The kitchen is led by João Rodrigues, with resident chef Lívia Orofino, who together cook in an open, fluid space where the counter, dining room and visible kitchen all blend naturally.
The menu is written daily on slate, reflecting the fresh products displayed in the vitrine. The cooking is emotionally Portuguese yet openly Iberian, always with a strong focus on national ingredients and straightforward, flavour-driven dishes.
