Opened in 1930 by Rodrigo Moreira Monteiro, Confeitaria da Ponte quickly became one of Amarante’s reference pastry shops. Its reputation was shaped by Ana Flores Andrade, a master pastry maker and former supplier to the Portuguese royal family, who brought her expertise in pão-de-ló and other regional sweets.
The house later passed to new generations, always preserving the same craftsmanship and traditional recipes. Today, under Ricardo Jorge da Silveira Ribeiro, Confeitaria da Ponte remains a classic stop for pão-de-ló, lerias, cavacas and the emblematic pastries of Amarante.
