If there is one bar one shouldn’t miss when pintxos crawling in San Sebastian, it’s definitely Bar Ganbara, an institution run by the Martínez Ortuzar family since 1984. Its success might be due to the quality and excellence that have been consistent for years. It is a favourite of the legendary chef Juan Mari Arzak, and Anthony Bourdain has been here as well. As it gets really busy, make sure to start queuing half an hour before opening to get a seat at the counter or at one of the two tall tables by the entrance.
