Takahashi is an eight-seat sushi-ya in Wimbledon, run by a husband-and-wife team. Despite its somewhat remote location, it is well worth the trip. Before moving to London, Nobuhisa Takahashi worked at a kaiseki restaurant in Japan and at Nobu Tokyo, where he developed exceptional skills in both sushi and Japanese fine dining. I especially love his nigiri, which are among the best I’ve had in Europe. Takahashi serves omakase only, featuring “otsumami” and kaiseki-style dishes followed by sushi. The restaurant also offers “Takahashi at Home”: takeaway sushi and ready-to-cook dishes available for preorder.
