London has no shortage of Japanese restaurants, but finding one that feels genuinely Japanese is another matter. Cubé is one of those rare places. Under the same ownership as Roketsu, it serves familiar Japanese dishes such as nasu dengaku, agedashi tofu and tonkatsu. For me, though, the main reason to visit is the sushi, prepared by experienced chefs trained in the Edo-mae tradition. You can order nigiri individually, either at the counter or at a table, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality.
