Review
Set in the family home where siblings Nacho and Esther Manzano were born, Casa Marcial has become the first three-Michelin-star restaurant in Asturias. Opened in 1993 in the tiny village of La Salgar (Parres), the restaurant is deeply rooted in its surroundings, drawing on the landscapes between the Cantabrian Sea and the Asturian mountains. Its cuisine is grounded in local, zero-mile ingredients and long-standing relationships with regional producers.
The menu is shaped by the spirit of the Northeast wind, a force that historically dried fish, roe and cured meats in the region—now reinterpreted through broths, sauces and dishes that express both tradition and modern technique. Expect refined versions of Asturian staples, from celebrated jamón croquettes to Nacho Manzano’s take on pitu de caleya, alongside seafood, freshwater fish and mountain herbs.
