Opened in the 1950s in Monteverde Nuovo, the trattoria began as La Palma, run by Anna and Vittorio, with their son Cesare growing up among the tables. In the 1970s, he took over, giving the restaurant his name and making it one of Rome’s most beloved addresses for authentic cucina romana. In 2009, Leonardo and Maria Pia took the helm, just as their daughter Giulia was born. With Leonardo’s experience in fine dining and Maria Pia’s support, they kept the spirit of the original while raising the bar — turning Cesare al Casaletto into a destination for Romans and travellers alike, praised for its traditional dishes, excellent wines, and warm, timeless atmosphere.
