Review

Following the success of its Paris address, Localino Al Mare is one of the most notable recent openings in Marseille’s Vauban area. Set in a former bakery on Boulevard Vauban, this contemporary trattoria revolves around a large marble counter and open kitchen, where brothers Cristian and Kevin Stradaioli, who previously worked with Bruno Verjus in Paris, lead the cooking.

The menu remains deliberately concise, complemented by a blackboard of daily specials that follow the seasons and the day’s best arrivals. The focus is on excellent ingredients and precise execution rather than elaborate presentations. Fish is sourced from suppliers including Ikejime Marseille, while vegetables come from trusted local producers. The result is confident Italian cooking rooted in tradition, with particular attention paid to the quality of the produce and the precision of every dish.
