A long standing Ibiza institution, Es Xarcu was opened over 40 years ago by Mariano Torres and Caridad Cabañero and is now run by their daughter Carolina, who continues the family’s approach with care.
Set on one of the island’s most beautiful coves, it remains a simple beachside restaurant focused on very fresh fish, often baked in the oven using a house method. Rotja, denton, grouper and John Dory are typical, alongside red prawns, jamón ibérico and a solid selection of Mediterranean starters.
A well considered wine and champagne list makes it an easy place to settle in for a long lunch by the sea.
