Despite its somewhat remote location, 8 places Sushi-ya in Wimbledon, Takahashi, run by a husband and wife team, is well worth the trip. Before moving to London, Nobuhisa Takahashi worked at a kaiseki restaurant in Japan, as well as at Nobu Tokyo, where he acquired great skills in both sushi and Japanese fine dining. I especially love his nigiri, which are some of the best I’ve had in Europe. Takahashi serves omakase only, which includes “otsumami” and kaiseki style dishes followed by sushi. Takahashi also offers a “Takahashi at Home” service, take away sushi and ready-to-cook dishes available for preorder.
