Review

Despite its somewhat remote location, 8 Places Sushi-ya in Wimbledon, Takahashi, run by a husband-and-wife team, is well worth the trip. Before moving to London, Nobuhisa Takahashi worked at a kaiseki restaurant in Japan, as well as at Nobu Tokyo, where he acquired great skills in both sushi and Japanese fine dining. I especially love his nigiri, which are some of the best I’ve had in Europe. Takahashi serves omakase only, which includes “otsumami” and kaiseki-style dishes followed by sushi. Takahashi also offers a “Takahashi at Home” service, take away sushi and ready-to-cook dishes available for preorder.
