A Stockholm classic beside Café Opera, Operabaren preserves its original 1905 interiors—a beautifully intact blend of Art Nouveau and club-like warmth. Long a meeting place for artists, writers, and business regulars, it continues to serve some of the city’s best Swedish classics, from perfectly seasoned meatballs to an excellent Toast Skagen crowned with löjrom, the prized Swedish vendace roe. The weekday plat du jour—another nod to its long tradition of honest, well-made home cooking—are consistently excellent, making Operabaren as relevant today as it was a century ago.
