Review

Kima opened in 2023 as a fin-to-gill contemporary Greek seafood restaurant, created by the team behind the renowned Marylebone institution Opso, located just across the street. Drawing directly from the abundance of the Greek seas, Kima brings a confident, modern expression of Greek coastal cooking to London.

Seafood is the clear focus, with the freshest day-boat fish presented daily, echoing the ritual of fishermen unveiling their catch along the Greek coastline. The kitchen follows a ‘use-all, waste-not’ philosophy, respecting both product and tradition, while the menu balances pristine seafood with well-judged Greek classics such as tarama and seasonal salads. The restaurant is led by Andreas and Nikos, whose combined vision helped introduce modern Greek cuisine to an international audience.

For me, Kima represents some of the best “elevated” Greek dining currently in London—rooted in heritage, but confidently contemporary.
