Bar Cañete’s family story began with grandfather Antonio in Seville and continued when Manolo and his wife Mari moved to Barcelona and opened their first bar. Their son José later joined the hospitality trade and helped shape what would become one of the city’s most beloved tapas addresses.
The spirit remains the same today: lively, straightforward and centred on excellent produce. Fresh fish and seafood arrive daily from Catalan markets, and vegetables come from local farmers to ensure seasonal flavour. Warm service and honest cooking have made Bar Cañete a Barcelona classic.
