"STRAF is not the sort of hotel designed to impress through traditional luxury. The atmosphere is deliberately urban. Vincenzo De Cotiis treated the building as an experiment in materials and contrasts, and that approach runs through every part of the property. The real surprise is how comfortable the result feels. After a day navigating Milan’s busy centre, the rooms work well as quiet places to step away from the city for a few hours. And outside the front door, everything that defines Milan: fashion houses, historic landmarks and late-night aperitivo culture, begins…immediately."
